A new study published in the journal Pediatrics suggests that there is a link between experiencing significant physical discipline as a child and later development of mood disorders, including depression and anxiety, as well as personality disorders and alcohol and drug abuse. However, this research offers correlation. Is it possible that kids with such propensities are more difficult to parent/discipline, so their parents are more likely to resort to corporal punishment?
